20 years later, Actua Soccer 2 and Actua Tennis arrive on Steam
There may be a shiny new FIFA this week, but something with a little more nostalgia is on the horizon.
The 1997 football classic, Actua Soccer 2, is set to launch on Steam on October 10 and will take you back to the days when Alan Shearer wasn’t just stuck in the commentary booth.
After that, Actua Tennis will then follow on Steam on October 12th. As!
Both games offer a range of “modern features” to improve upon their original releases, such as the ability to save/load at any time, use “most” modern controllers, remap commands, and apply “Image scaling and smoothing options”.
Even with all that, the retro vibe of the games is still very much present.
Actua Soccer 2 details include boasting that it includes “motion capture by a young Michael Owen” and “involvement of Alan Shearer”, who apparently picked the game’s All-Star team which includes Beckham, Bobby More and Pele.
You will also be able to replay the 97/98 international season without worrying about buying FUT Coins. It looks like a win to me.
