I’m not necessarily in a hurry Monitor 2the successor to Activision Blizzard and the replacement for its 2016 team-based shooter.
Gamer on PCreported this week that the series’ lead hero designer, Geoff Goodman, who had helped shape the series since its incubation period six years ago, recently left Blizzard. As recently as August, Activision employees accused the gaming company union busting. In June, the company expressed its reluctance to file annual harassment reports despite years of employees speaking out against what they call an abusive workplace. None of this inspires enthusiasm.
But the are newdaughtercharacters, and I guess that’s cool. The girls are cool. And netizens have asked a lot of questions about Monitor 2 (understandable – its release is only two weeks away), so I thought I’d scour the nooks and crannies of the internet to find and answer some of the most asked questions. I want this to be understood Monitor 2 things together, and maybe even find something to look forward to (or not).
When Monitor 2go out?
It’s easy, October 4, 2022. The game itself is free to play, but an in-game store and often maligned battle pass will effectively pay for some new characters and live seasonal items.

Blizzard isn’t just canned Surveillance before 2of — it completely replaces Surveillance with Monitor 2. I’m thinking of naming the game something like Monitoring 2.0 Where Overwatch, Again Where Hey, I’m Overwatch except there’s more cool girls would have helped clear up some of the confusion. Blizzard didn’t ask me to be present at the nomination meeting, oddly.
The last day to play a pure Surveillance is October 2, two days before 2 versions. After that, Surveillance commercial direct Jon Spector said in a statement to Eurogamer that “it’s a 27-hour downtime that we’re planning in order to get the Monitor 2 server got up and running. During these 27 hours, new players will be able to download Monitor 2 in preparation for launch, and existing players will receive a notification to update their software for Monitor 2.
The base Monitor 2 is free, but Blizzard will still generously give you the opportunity to hand over some money. You can buy the Watchpoint Pack, a $39.99 package, if you really fancy it.
According its description Battle.netit includes the following: season 1 of Monitor 2‘s premium battle pass, which gives you access to the hero healer Kiriko and “over 80 levels of rewards”, 7 legendary skins, 5 epic skins, 2,000 Overwatch coins and Overwatch Legendary Edition. The fine print indicates that only game items Legendary will be about Monitor 2yet.
East Monitor 2switching at 5v5?
Yes. Snow storm announced in 2021 that it would reduce the size of PvP teams from six to five. This is probably also what God has decided for our fingers and toes.
What is this unannounced basic mode?
This is pure speculation at this point. A a few months agoa Discord user translated information allegedly shared from an interview now deleted with French streamer Potxeca, Geoff Goodman and game director Aaron Keller. User said there’s an ‘unannounced game mode’ coming in 2023, and excited Reddit users think it might be Team Fortress 2-type 5CP.
More speculation, but it seems seasonal Surveillance items will not be transferred to Monitor 2or you will no longer be able to buy them with credits.
Players have received a “last chance” reminder to “spend your credits on seasonal collectibles!” In-game. The same reminder nebulously states that the credits themselves will carry over to 2so, uh…
But Blizzard wrote in a blog from September 15 that it was introducing another currency, Overwatch Coins, and a “seasonal model” with nine-week update periods, which would provide the game with things like heroes, maps, modes, and skins. It seems likely that whatever Blizzard pushes you to pass those old times Surveillance credits on will not be available for one reason or another on October 4th.
I have seen many people complaining that everything Surveillance the characters are less cute in Monitor 2, but, for the most part, I really can’t tell the difference in character design. At least, not in a way that seems meaningful or meaningful. I am sorry. But take comfort in remembering that your journal will always have crisp blank pages so you can master Widowmaker cheekbones, if that’s what it’s all about.
Why is it Surveillance liked critics but hated by players?
Is it true? For the most part, I think critics and non-criticists come close Monitor 2 with healthy trepidation and slight intrigue, and I think a lot of non-reviewers enjoy playing the original Surveillance. In the end, we’re just people with opinions, not facts, as I learned in first grade. Nothing to worry about there.
Should Monitor 2to be considered for game of the year?
Maybe. As a critic, I love Monitor 2, but as a gamer, I hate it. So I’m not sure.
