Deathloop is coming to Xbox next Tuesday
UPDATE 1:45 p.m. UK: Deathloop will receive a major content update to coincide with its launch on Xbox. The game will also join Sony’s PlayStation Extra/Premium catalog of games.
The “Golden Loop” update will add a new weapon, new enemies, new upgrades, cross-play matchmaking, and extended endgame.
On Xbox, there will also be cross-progression and cross-purchase. As a current-gen game, Eurogamer understands that Deathloop will only be available on Xbox Series X/S consoles.
ORIGINAL STORY 1pm UK:Deathloop officially launches on Xbox and Game Pass next Tuesday.
The single-player first-person shooter, developed by Arkane Lyon, was first released last year as a PlayStation 5 exclusive (as well as PC).
The exclusivity has raised eyebrows since the game’s publisher, Bethesda Softworks, was acquired by Microsoft earlier that year.
This official confirmation comes as an advertisement for the game appeared on the Xbox Dashboard yesterday.
Deathloop received the coveted Essential badge from Eurogamer when reviewed by Edwin last year.
Edwin praised the time-loop shooter for perfecting the gameplay mechanics of the Dishonored series, as well as the more contemporary setting.
