Ironwood’s Pacific Drive announced for PS5 and PC, coming in 2023
Pacific Boardwalkannounced earlier todayis that rare game you look at and say, hrm, i don’t think i ever enough seen something like this before.
Developed by Ironwood Studios, Pacific boardwalk takes place in the Pacific Northwest, and you and your trusty old car – they call the game a “road-like,” very cute – driving through some kind of weird landscape full of aliens/ anomalies. It is described by its creators as a “racing-based first-person driving survival game,” which means you’ll spend much of the game frantically driving for your life, as you can see in the trailer below:
Alex Dracott, Founder and Creative Director of Ironwood Studios, states as part of the game’s announcement:
We love weird science, stories of on-the-road adventures, and we’ve always been intrigued by the dark, mysterious worlds of games like STALKER or books like Annihilation. In Pacific Drive, we’ve been able to bring these passions together by creating an adventure that takes you deep into the heart of the Pacific Northwest aboard a vintage station wagon that, over time, can become your very own 80s sci-fi dramatically. modified. fi machine to upgrade, explore and risk the dangers of the area with. The Ironwood team worked with passion to make this idea a reality. While the team is “working with PlayStation” on the game, with Pacific boardwalk slated for PS5 next year, a PC version will also release around the same time.
