Nintendo fans return to the NY Store to watch the latest Direct
Nintendo welcomed a select group of fans to its New York flagship store yesterday to see its latest Direct broadcast – the first time in almost three years.
The practice was previously common pre-Covid and frequently caused outpourings of excitement during major Nintendo game reveals.
Well, as we know, yesterday’s Nintendo Direct had plenty – and the assembled group of fans reacted as well as expected to word of Pikmin 4, Fire Emblem Engage and the name Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Perhaps surprisingly, the biggest reaction of the afternoon seems to have come from the reveal of Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe, a remake of a Wii platform game. His announcement prompted those gathered to begin chanting Kirby’s name. Nintendo fans, huh.
Admission to the viewing was on a first-come, first-served basis with limited seating. Today, Nintendo shared footage from the event on Twitter:
If you missed the show yourself, here’s everything recapped in yesterday’s Nintendo Direct.
