OnRush loses online functionality in November

The racing game OnRush will lose its online functionality on November 30.

EA’s online services shutdown page has been updated with this addition.

“Thank you to everyone who supported our game – it’s been a RUSH,” it read. “With player counts in online modes dropping to low levels, we will be shutting down servers starting November 30, 2022. For OnRush fans who wish to continue playing, offline modes will continue to be available.”

Eurogamer Newscast: How damaging are video game leaks?

OnRush was a chaotic take on arcade racing, which Martin awarded Recommended in his review in 2018.

However, it is clear that the number of players was far below expectations.

As we reported after the game launched, OnRush sold just over 1000 physical copies in its UK launch week.

The developer was later fired, including OnRush and Driveclub manager Paul “Rushy” Rustchynsky and other senior team members.

While the game is still playable offline, shutting down online functionality is surely the checkered flag for OnRush now.
