Sand says: Ronin looked cool
It looked grand – I know some will be disappointed that we haven’t seen Silent Hill or Metal Gear, but those new IPs look great, and Project Eve brings the kind of over-the-top spectacle that I really like.
– Martin Robinson
Not a bad performance, all things considered.
– Martin Robinson
Tekken 8, Rise of the Ronin, and Yakuza Ishin are finally coming to the west. Oh, and I shouldn’t really forget the PSVR2 show with Demeo and Star Wars Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge.
– Martin Robinson
Big ones, even.
– Martin Robinson
So, that was weird – by my count, though, we had three really good reveals.
– Martin Robinson
ChrisOTR says: Thanks for today’s coverage Martin, great job. Appreciated.
Thank you for your great comments.
– Martin Robinson
(I’m not very subtle here)
– Martin Robinson
ChrisOTR says: Hmmm, well, good stuff for others, I guess. Personally, I expected more for PSVR2.
Likewise, I was hoping for a bit more, but what was there looked splendid. And hopefully we can get more details on that in the next few days.
– Martin Robinson
Ah, well – we end with a God of War Ragnarok trailer, it seems.
– Martin Robinson
I guess they’re really deepening that style of play right now.
– Martin Robinson
So it looks like Nioh – just like Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which is also from the same bloodline.
– Martin Robinson
Rise of the Ronin, from Koei Tecmo – coming in 2024, and an exclusive PS5 console.
– Martin Robinson
VektreX says: Stellar Blade seems to be from Platinum, it looks big
Can we make the track happen? If only for tonight.
– Martin Robinson
An action game that looks absolutely spectacular.
– Martin Robinson
But it will be Project Eve.
– Martin Robinson
Sorry, that’s not exactly the kind of information you come to Eurogamer for.
– Martin Robinson
I don’t know what it is but it looks great.
– Martin Robinson
That’s why I was used to TGS – a mech action game told with real weight and real drama. This is what I would call “piece”.
– Martin Robinson
Here’s a PlayStation Clubcard now, or something.
– Martin Robinson
It’s wonderful that Yakuza has grown from a super niche to a series that is now garnering worldwide attention. And rightly so – it’s one of the best big-budget series around.
– Martin Robinson
There will be more Yakuza news, of course, during tomorrow’s livestream.
– Martin Robinson
It’s great, though – there’s been so much demand for a localization of this.
– Martin Robinson
It’s a long-awaited dream – Yakuza Ishin finally gets what feels like a remaster, and finally a western release!
– Martin Robinson
S Bandy says: “It looks big” Is that what the kids say now?
– Martin Robinson
Demeo, a first-person tabletop game, is also announced for PSVR2.
– Martin Robinson
So yes, there’s Tekken 8. Now let’s move on to PSVR2 games, starting with Star Wars Tales From the Galaxy’s Edge.
– Martin Robinson
Tekken is the game that came with some of the original PlayStation packages.
– Martin Robinson
I also can’t think of a more PlayStation fighting game than Tekken.
– Martin Robinson
I have a blind spot with Namco fighting games I’m afraid – I’m a Virtua Fighter fanboy. That sounds piecemeal though.
– Martin Robinson
It’s right in Tekken.
– Martin Robinson
Well, for real here we go.
– Martin Robinson
Sony always manages to be behind somehow.
– Martin Robinson
Well, shall we go…?
– Martin Robinson
Give us degree 6.
– Martin Robinson
And hey, let’s dream big.
– Martin Robinson
Kami says: What was the last Armored Core game? (Oh my god, was that the awful Kinect?)
I love this Kinect game! It’s cracker and there are some hilarious set-pieces – like the pissing apple riddle. Good game.
– Martin Robinson
Maybe even a new Silent Hill!
– Martin Robinson
After seeing Pikmin 4 finally revealed earlier today, I now think anything is possible.
– Martin Robinson
What I would really like – and it’s a pie in the sky – is to see FromSoft’s new Armored Core. Can you imagine?
– Martin Robinson
There’s also the promise of more on PSVR2, of course – we know little about that at the moment.
– Martin Robinson
So we’ll see a lot, I’m sure, from Koei Tecmo, Square Enix, Capcom and maybe – just maybe! – even Konami.
– Martin Robinson
Well, it’s Tokyo Game Show time and a lot of these announcements and reveals will be lined up for the show.
– Martin Robinson
Oh you mean what to expect tonight?
– Martin Robinson
Baritone says: Hello Martin. What’s the word on the street?
It’s ‘PARKING RESERVED’ on mine but it’s an overzealous neighbor who got annoyed with people parking in his spot so he painted it himself so it’s not official or whatever it would be.
– Martin Robinson
It’s absolutely exploding here in Lewisham, and I’m comfortable in my shed with a beer waiting for it all to kick off.
